Arise and Come Forth Unto Me
The process of painting this piece gave me many sacred moments as I attempted to capture and convey the emotion that those present in this moment must have felt to see their resurrected Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who is kind and gentle in His invitations to come to Him. Just as He did to them, Jesus lovingly invites us to continually come to Him one by one. How wonderful that day will be for us when we kneel before Him and feel the prints of the nails in His hands and feet! There is intentional visual symbolism embedded as well, particularly in the circular portion of the window around the sun, which is divided into twelve sections to represent the Twelve Tribes of Israel. The sun's rays then extend downward to the Savior because He, as the Light of the World and the Good Shepherd, lovingly gathers scattered Israel, bringing us, His sheep, into one fold. Reproduced from the artist's original artwork of Acrylic on Canvas 30 x 60. Painted 2023.
